• The Principal Test Engineer is a senior technical and quality leader accountable for the reliability, performance, and customer readiness of complex lottery systems deployed in live customer environments.
• This role combines hands-on testing expertise with incident leadership and strong customer-facing ownership, working closely with global delivery, support teams, and third-party vendors.
• This is a hybrid role with 50% office attendance mandatory at our office in Perth.

• Customer & Incident Leadership
• Serve as the primary escalation point for customer issues and production incidents, owning investigation, coordination, and resolution
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Coordinate effectively with global engineering, support, and operations teams across time zones
• Provide clear, timely communication to customers during incidents and critical deployments
• System Integration & Delivery
• Support and validate system integration within customer environments, including third-party and external system interactions
• Define, document, and validate end-to-end integration scenarios, including failure and recovery paths
• Ensure solution readiness for customer acceptance and production release
• T est Strategy & Execution
• Define and execute test strategies and plans aligned with scope, risk, schedules, and priorities
• Lead functional, integration, and regression testing activities
• Ensure full traceability from customer and system requirements to test coverage and results
• Continuously improve test processes, quality metrics, and reporting
• Technical & Project Leadership
• Provide technical quality leadership across projects and maintenance streams
• Own end-to-end quality delivery, ensuring timelines and agreed standards are met
• Act as a quality authority, constructively challenging decisions that may compromise customer or system quality
• Requirements & Documentation
• Define, analyze, and document customer, system, and operational requirements
• Track requirements through implementation, verification, and acceptance
• Maintain accurate, auditable documentation including test plans, reports, defect analysis, and release readiness assessments

Требования

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline
• 6+ years’ experience in software testing, including complex systems and integration testing
• Proven technical leadership in software delivery, system integration, or customer support environments
• Strong understanding of SDLC, defect management, and production support operations
• ISTQB Advanced Level (or equivalent) certification
• Fluent written and spoken English
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in production and customer-impacting scenarios
• Excellent stakeholder management and customer-facing communication skills
• Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and lead incident resolution
• High level of autonomy, ownership, and accountability
• Experience working with globally distributed teams (outside Australia) and offshore models will be highly valued
