• Some of your responsibilities include
• Improve, innovate and maintain current tooling infrastructure and in-house editing toolset
• Design, architect, maintain, test and implement tools at scale
• Collaborate with various current and future users of our tools, bridging various crafts within King with the intent to optimize, improve and discover workflows across games
• Deliver high quality and well-structured code
• Improve quality and performance inside our tools landscape
• Drive and support tool adoption with stakeholders in the game teams across King
• Coach and mentor more junior developers, helping them grow in technical areas such as architecture, development patterns or testing
• Skills to Create Thrills
• You are a programmer who enjoys an array of challenges, and strives to deliver great products and technology
• You are a self-starter, curious and a fast learner
• You are excited to contribute to live games with a massive user base
• You question the status quo and strive for effective innovations as much as you like maintaining and extending existing software
• You enjoy being in contact with users of your tools and use their feedback to improve your work
• Excellent Python knowledge with experience implementing high-quality standalone and web applications, paired with strong C++ experience
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Highly experienced with testing, automation and continuous integration
• Experienced with tools development and strong desire to work with tools
• Experience with performance-critical software is a bonus
• Ability to work closely with cross-discipline teams to understand their needs
• High sense of code quality and polish and the desire to build and maintain a high-quality code base
• Ability to develop on multiple platforms: Windows and OSX

• This includes working across multiple teams to facilitate both architectural decisions and hands-on development to support smaller feature teams based on rolling needs
• You should have a broad range of knowledge and be able to context switch easily to provide active support across the whole team and beyond
• The ability to see the project as a whole is crucial as you monitor the development in real- time to determine how we should support and assist the rest of the development team
• You’ll also play a key role in improving our feedback loop, making it easier for teams to adopt tools and for our team to learn what’s working (or not)
• Strong communication and empathy for end users are essential
• Your Role Within Our Kingdom You will enjoy a creative, challenging and collaborative environment where your ideas will be every bit as valued as your programming expertise
• Familiarity with using observability tools, for example Sentry or Grafana

• Experience with Cloud frameworks / technologies (GCP, Docker, k8s etc)
• Experience with game editor extension systems (e.g., Unity Editor scripting, Unreal Editor tooling, or custom C++/Qt editor frameworks)
• Experience facilitating workshops or leading technical presentations internally
